With an increased interest in our 4 Day Intensives in DBT (face to face and webinars), the Institute has developed a 10-month advanced DBT development program for mental health professionals who have completed a 4 Day Intensive training (or equivalent). The purpose of the Advanced DBT Program is to support clinicians seeking to be credentialed DBT Practitioners or clinicians seeking support to implement a DBT or DBT Informed program in their workplace.

This program offers 10 months of support to mental health professionals seeking to implement a DBT or DBT Informed approach in their clinical practice.
Course pre-requisites
If you do not currently meet the below intensive training requirement CMHE Academy has a discounted offer of $1,429 for an intensive training program which includes the Advanced DBT Program (Level 3) – Discounted offer ends 10th November 2020.
- Participants will be accepted from qualified Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, General Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Youth Workers and other helping professionals.
- Applicants are expected to be working with individuals with BPD/emotion dysregulation and looking to run a DBT informed program/activity implement DBT informed practice into the existing clinical setting
- Have knowledge of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
- Participants are expected to have a foundational understanding of DBT and to have attended either one of Marsha Linehan’s intensive training courses or an Australian DBT Institute’s 4 Day Intensive workshops or webinars (Singapore participants LEVEL 1 & LEVEL 2 Training).
Online Sessions – via Zoom
Zoom session attendance is a part of this program. However, the Australian DBT Institute understands the busy schedule of mental health professionals and will record all sessions in the case an individual is unable to attend any of these sessions.
- 23rd November 2020 (9am-12pm Perth/Singapore; 12pm-4pm Gold Coast; 1pm-5pm Melbourne/Sydney) – Online Orientation to Level 3 Expectations (4hrs). Participants will access a Zoom webinar that will orientate individuals to all the components of this 10-month program including requirements for credentialing in DBT. Sessions will be LIVE and also recorded for viewing on an ongoing basis.
- 1st February 2021 (4-5.30pm Perth/Singapore; 6pm-7.30pm Gold Coast; 7pm-8.30pm Melbourne/Sydney) – Online check-in before commencing DBT (90 mins). A quick check-in for program participants to clarify details relating to the commencement of a DBT or DBT informed approach in each participant’s workplace. Participants are expected to have accessed DBT content from CMHE Academy in preparation for their use of DBT and DBT informed approaches.
- 14th June 2021 (9am-12pm Perth/Singapore; 11am-3pm Gold Coast/Melbourne/Sydney) – Mid Program Online Check-in (4hrs). Mid program discussion including; program progress, clarifications, preparation for final assessment task of an individual case presentation, and program/individual therapy approach using DBT.
- 6th September 2021 (4-5.30pm Perth/Singapore; 6pm-7.30pm Gold Coast/Melbourne/Sydney) – Online Q&A regarding individual presentations. Final discussions about individual presentations for September’s face to face sessions.
Face to Face Session – Program Presentations and Credentialing (Choice of 4 locations)
These sessions commence at 9am in each location and conclude at approximately 4pm depending on the number of presentations (Maximum of 15 presentations per location). Participants are to provide a PowerPoint presentation to facilitators at the commencement of their day of attendance.
